I’ve been blessed to be able to spend time each summer since I was about 8 years old in a little town called Capitola. Capitola is part of Santa Cruz county and has so much to offer anyone who visits. As soon as I drive into town, I feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me. Looking around, I remember all the good times spent here with family and friends. One of my favorite things about Capitola is it’s natural beauty. You can walk to the beach in minutes, drive the scenic coast or hike the red woods. Here are a few snapshots of one of my favorite places in the world.
Waves breaking at the famous surf spot, Pleasure Point.
California poppies are everywhere!
The Hook, surf spot. This stump reminds me of the book, “The Giving Tree”.
My favorite place to run by the coast.
Amazing architecture. Check out those doors!
My favorite thrift store in the village where I scored some Levi’s to cut into shorts, a baseball tee and a Star Wars Lego shirt for my son.
Another cool shop in Capitola village.
Family photo on the 4th of July.
Hike in the Nisene Forest with my boys.
He was ready to join the Jr. Guards that day!
I love being able to walk to the beach.
Date night with my honey ended the trip right.
