Magnolia’s Room: An Eclectic Style Nursery

The Kindred Street

Nesting, ah that fun little phase that most mama’s go through when everything in life is all about preparing, planning and decorating for baby. During my own pregnancy I remember how important  it was to get the correct shade of grey paint and map out frame arrangements for the wall with perfection. It was important to prepare a place for my child that reflected my style and create a fun atmosphere.

Russell and Brianna Brownley did just that! This new Mom and Dad did a killer job creating a space for their daughter that captured their eclectic style.

When I asked Brianna what inspired the look for Magnolia’s room she explained she loves to mix and match vintage-inspired items with those that have an industrial-chic feel and was selective by only using pieces she really loved. In her own words, “I actually started Magnolia’s room based around these awesome rope lamps I found at Home Goods. I knew that I wanted a bold floral wallpaper, but the lamps made me look more toward a tropical print. Then, decorating started to revolve around what pieces would stand out but not compete with the wallpaper. Restoration Hardware Baby and Child became my best friend when looking for stand-out nursery basics with an edge. Then we found the awesome vintage armoire and the old-school Hawaiian shell chandelier that pulled the whole room together. Magnolia loves all the bright colors and patterns…it seems to match her happy personality.”

I had the privilege of documenting them setting up their daughters room while she was still a (very baked) bun in the oven. This baby has some seriously cool digs.
